Descrizione della capanna
Questa antica capanna si trova in un ambiente alpino di grande fascino, vicino ai ghiacciai del Paradiso e dello Zapport che danno sorgente all’Hinterrhein (Reno Posteriore). Venne costruita gia nel 1872 “una delle prime del CAS” (Hütte am Ursprung) e rinnovata negli anni 1923 e 1971. Nel 2007 da parte dei nuovi custodi (Fam. Bernhard) sono continuate le migliorie (doccia, piazzale, grill esterno, ammodernamento interno..). La stessa è di proprietà della sezione Rätia del CAS e conta 30 posti sia d’estate che d’inverno. Dall’estate 2008 sarà a disposizione nelle vicinanze della capanna anche un palestra d’arrampicata (diverse vie e difficoltà) sulle pareti basali del Rheinquellhorn.
Particolarità della zona come ambiente alpinistico, al possibilità di raggiungere ben 11 cime superiori ai 3000m. Tra queste spicca sicuramente il Rheinwaldhorn/Adula come cima più imponente che con i suoi 3402m ne fa la cima più alta di tutta la vallata del Reno posteriore, del Canton Ticino e come punto culmine di tutto quanto sta a sud delle alpi Svizzere.
